I drew this for my best friend. She's moving this summer, right before our senior year. I'm going to miss that girl like insanity. *le sigh* Regardless, here's some new artwork from me. Rarity these days, isn't it? xD I started this one back in the end of April for her, when she was feeling really down, and finished it just a couple of minutes ago. Gosh I wish she wasn't leaving. I love you Emmy. <3333
N'awwww that's so sweet of you! It must be hard to see your friend leaving. Hopefully you two can still keep and touch and visit once in a while. Can't imagine how hard that's got to be to say goodbye, it's no wonder she's feeling down! Give her a big hug for me!
Absolutely gorgeous image! I am so jealous of your painted style. Those gray cloud just look so fantastic. The swirls and curves make them look so like real rain clouds! The water on the umbrella looks SOO GOOD!!! You'll have to teach me how to make such good rain... it just, looks so sos ososoosoo AMAZING! The way it's pouring off the left edge of the umbrella; I love the flow of it. Both character's look fantastic as well! Love how you've made everything gray, with the pops of colour where the emphasis is made. Very powerful. Wonderful wonderful work!
-- Regardless, you call Clark before you dial 9-11? I mean, what's he going to do? Dismantle the bomb with his great hair??
Yes, it is very hard on both sides. We actually just met during freshman year, but didn't really become close friends until last summer. Then this year, we had two classes together and the same lunch, along with a lot of the same teachers. But yeah, it's going to be quite hard to say goodbye to her. Especially since it's right before our senior year. And I'll make sure to give her a huge hug for ya Bo. <3 Definitely this Saturday because we are taking our final ACT test. This will be my third time taking that stupid test! lol. At least it should be a LOT easier this time because of all that crazy practice with my whopping three AP tests I took this May. That was pure insanity. *shudders at the remembrance of that* I'm just glad I can guess and fill in patterns with the ACT because on the AP tests, you were penalized for guessing, meaning they would take a quarter point off for every multiple choice question you got wrong! Evil people! lol.
Awwwwwwww! Thanks for the amazing comment and fave Bo. You're comments ALWAYS make my day brighter. ^^ Actually, making the rain like that is quite simple. First, you create a separate layer on top of everything and fill it completely with black. Next, go to filter, noise, and add noise. Make sure that the monochromatic box is checked, then add about 20 or so on the little slide bar thing. Once you have the white specks everywhere, change the layer from normal to screen so all of the black goes away. Finally, go to filter, blur, then motion blur and choose how much you want your rain drops to be blurred. Also, you can play with the angle, so if there's wind in you picture, you can put the rain on an angle. To make the rain drips, you can use a small, standard brush, about size 3 is what I think I was using, and set the color to an extremely light blue, almost white color. Make sure to play with the opacity and flow (keep them both kind low, around 40-60 for the opacity, 20-30 -ish for the flow), and turn on the airbrush. Then just draw the flowing raindrops, following the curves of the object. And I believe that's all there is to it. ^^ If you have any questions, you can ask me. Right now it's after 2:30 in the morning, so if I'm not making sense, that's why. And I suppose you can add the fact that I didn't get to bed last night until almost five. lol. Just got done playing some Smash Bros with my brother, and you can blame him for yesterday's late night too. xD Ah well, I'm loving every minute of it. Anywho, I'll get to more of my messages later. I see I have a nice lil bunch waiting for me. ^^

Aww yeah, just make sure you guys stay in touch, which I'm sure you will.
Oh my gosh! That is evil!! Points off for guessing?? eeeeeeep!
Ahh! That's such a clever effect!! For some reason I almost never think of applying effects to my art, I always think I have to draw EVERYTHING! lol good plan! I'm definitely going to try that next time I do rain.

I know! It is terribly evil, isn't it? Crazy AP people.
That's what happens when you're lazy; you find an easy way to do things. xD Yeah, I found that in a tutorial a while ago. ^^ I hope you find it helpful next time you do a rainy pic.

I know it has! <3 Ah, things have been going pretty well. School's been out for a month and I've been hanging out with my brother before he leaves for New Jersey. Other than that, not too much. I'm glad to hear things have been going okay for you. ^^
