Wow, 'tis been a while since an update, no? Gah, I'm just too lazy anymore. Well, here's my epic masterpiece of the year. xD Started this after the second day of exams once I was struck with an unbelievable amount of inspiration. I know there are plenty of things wrong with it, such as the lighting and the tail, but I just got tired of messing around with it and I wanted to upload it. Finally. Poor Kala. Again, my negative emotions are reflected upon her. Teen love can be confusing. xD
Anyway, I do really love this pic despite all of its errors. Especially the bloody heart. I dunno why, but I like to draw blood now, as I'm sure you guys have noticed. xD It seems like lately, more of my negative emotions have inspired me to draw more. I'm not sure why, but the do seem to create the best artwork. And I'm sorry it's sooooo huge. I didn't want to loose anymore detail. Originally, the sketch was this size, then I made it twice as large as this, so this thing took a good five minutes to load in Photoshop after a while with all of the layers, sheer size, and whatnot. And I believe this was my first serious attempt at drawing rocks. xD And I think I drew them well, actually. I seem to be just saying random jumbled thoughts atm, so I guess I'll stop before I write anything else weird/stupid. xD I might put more of a description later, depending on how lazy I feel. xD Hope you guys enjoy this long awaited pic! <333
Wow, it's incredible how many different textures you have in this piece! The water looks so incredible, with all the small waves, I like how you've made it look somewhat calm without any white caps. Makes me think this is either a pond or a small lake. I especially love the texture you put in the brown stone. Looks like real rock should with all the little grains of sand it once was. You really did a great job with adding in cracks in all the right places! The flow of her hair looks so wonderful!! Looks like just a soft gust came by and softly lighted it and in the next frame it'd be back on her shoulders. I think my favorite part of this piece is the blast of colour on the left hand side from the sun. Just such a wonderful contrast against the dark blue water!
Ahh, the ways of that teenage heart are very frustrating and confusing. I hope things can clear up for you soon! You've got lots of time for love anyway. Beautiful imagery though!
